What is digital philology?
It is a good question. In fact, it is the question. The scientific literature about digital philology is currently scarce, and so is the communication on this matter between archivists, programmers, IT managers, philologists, linguists, musicologists and those who are interested by the patrimony of recorded sound for scientific and professional reasons.
The Workshop (IPPSA 2015) aims at starting a systematic discussion that will hopefully lead to the formalisation of an interdisciplinary research area, namely that of "digital philology", with a specific focus on the preservation and restoration of historical audio recordings.
