Mezrab
by Ardavan Vossoughi, 2026.
The musical piece Mezrab was originally composed in 2019 for solo harpsichord.
The present edition, completed in 2026, represents a substantial reworking by the composer, who is currently active at the CSC, and is conceived as a dedication to three key figures of the CSC.
Mezrab, A musical composition in three parts
Part I – To Geppino Pucci
This first part is dedicated to Geppino Pucci, a true friend of the CSC and a world-renowned computer scientist of the highest standing, whose work focuses on models and algorithms for high-performance and big data computing, data analysis and mining and machine learning. His genuine interest in our research and his presence at our musical events represent a constant source of encouragement. Through his support and closeness he embodies the rare ability to understand and value the dialogue between science, art and technology.
